ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 2Mechanical Engineering, to provide comprehensive support for one full-time professor and one retired professor. Will monitor and reconcile accounting statements; investigate and follow up on purchasing/accounting discrepancies; approve procurement card transactions; monitor and order supplies and equipment; serve as the primary contact for laboratory staff and students; gather information and submit requests for visiting and postdoctoral appointments; assist with orienting new students, staff, and visitors; maintain lab calendar; schedule appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements; coordinate events; compose and edit internal correspondence and documents;  and deal with confidential issues using discretion and judgment. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  a high school diploma; at least three years of administrative, office, or related experience; excellent organizational, word processing, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and problem solve, function both independently and part of a team, and work effectively with people at all levels; experience with arranging travel, paying invoices, ordering supplies, expense reimbursements, and reconciling accounts; and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and willingness to learn new software.  Job #17400-5
