TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE IMcGovern Institute of Brain Research-Jazayeri Lab, to participate in research involving human and animal behavior, electrophysiology, and computational modeling.  Will be involved in animal handling and training; conducting behavioral studies; preparing subjects for experiments; and performing electrophysiology recordings, data analysis, and modeling. Will also be expected to help with technical and administrative support as needed. This may include assisting with occasional surgical procedures, training new staff, handling lab protocols, lab safety, small mechanical and electronic design and construction, and miscellaneous tasks required for the smooth operation of the lab.  Will receive training on all of the main responsibilities.  Will work closely with the principal investigator and a senior fellow in the lab and have an opportunity to contribute to one or more ongoing research project(s).  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  a bachelor's degree in neuroscience or related field; at least two years’ relevant research experience (can be undergraduate research experience); proven experience with computational modeling and machine learning using Python and/or MATLAB in a research setting; self-motivation; ability to work effectively both as an individual contributor and as part of a team; and ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
