The Laboratory of Psychiatric Neurobiology was established at the intersection of molecular genetics, cell biology and behavioral models in order to adapt and develop the latest methods in the field of neurobiology and psychiatry.

Such interdisciplinary approaches help to find practical use to the study of psychoneurological pathologies, including neurodegenerative diseases, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia-related and autistic spectra disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), addiction. The general objective of the laboratory activities is to identify convergent mechanisms as possible targets for new therapy methods, and to identify preventive intervention strategies into the development of neuropsychiatric syndromes (precision medicine) above mentioned.

A number of best practices are used to determine the mechanisms of changes in synaptic plasticity (synaptopathies), endoneural signal transmission (neuronal dysfunction), and the interaction between neurons (systemic dysfunction) in the development of these syndromes.
