Research Associate

Department : Department of Inflammation Biology

This post is made available through an EU Horizon 2020 grant awarded to the European consortium RTCure (Rheuma Tolerance for Cure). Professors Andrew Cope and Leonie Taams and Dr Susanne Heck are lead investigators of a project entitled “Technologies for monitoring the RA-associated immune state” in close collaboration with EFPIA and academic partners in UK and Europe. The successful candidate will be expected to lead, under the supervision of the three Principal Investigators, a programme of research whose principal aim is to establish immune monitoring platforms for evaluating the immune health of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). A particular focus will be to harmonise and refine high end flow cytometry and CyToF immune phenotyping protocols for testing in the context of Experimental Medicine studies and Clinical Trials. Detailed knowledge of applied cellular immunology and immune phenotyping in the context of immune mediated inflammatory diseases would be highly advantageous. The successful candidate will have opportunities to interact with RTCure collaborators in the academic and industry sectors, and to gain experience in cutting edge data informatics and analytical techniques. This post will be located in the Centre for Inflammation Biology and Cancer Immunology in New Hunt's House on the Guy's Campus, King's College London. The successful candidate will gain new expertise in immune monitoring and big data analysis, and make important contributions to our understanding of immune signatures that underpin immune tolerance in man.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 36 months.

This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent.

The selection process will include a panel interview.

To apply, please register with the King's College London application portal and complete your application online.
