The Department of Psychiatry is looking for a research specialist to join our basic neuroscience laboratory. The candidate will be expected to perform experiments using molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology techniques to pursue our research. The candidate will perform these experiments to assist graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and under supervision of the principle investigator, and will be responsible for associated record keeping, data analysis and presentation. The candidate will also use the R computing language to analyze gene expression data, and Fiji/R to analyze imaging data. Candidate will also contribute to aspects of lab management including aliquoting, making solutions, monitoring reagents stocks, and ordering reagents to keep stocks maintained. Prior experience in culturing human cells, cloning, reading scientific literature, R language, Fiji are desired. The candidate will be expected to solve problems and work independently, with supervision.

A Bachelor’s Degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
