Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (2 posts) in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 495529), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Microbiology or equivalent, and an excellent command of written and spoken English. They should have a strong background in natural product chemistry or synthetic biology and its application to chemical biology research. Experience in genomics, genetic editing, LC-MS-based metabolomics, and microbiome would be desirable. Applicants should have a strong sense of responsibility, good organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and be self-motivated. The appointees will work on the genomics-guided discovery, biosynthesis, and bioengineering of natural products from ocean and human microbiota under the supervision of Dr. Y.X. Li. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
