COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING ASSISTANT 2MIT.nano, to perform complex and diverse duties including writing, production, proofreading, editing and administrative support for multiple projects, campaigns, events, communications channels, and websites.  Responsibilities include drafting research and facility news items, including articles, press releases, website updates, user information for the research community and other writing in collaboration with relevant staff as needed; coordinating the production of print and electronic content including collateral, website, informational video displays, and social media; compiling information and drafting varied communications/marketing content for recurring activities/events; maintaining MIT.nano website; maintaining editorial schedules; making edits and template changes in print and digital materials; sourcing and securing rights to images for print and digital use; maintaining and updating communications contact list, sending communications and marketing/promotional emails, and tracks responses; proving support for communications/marketing activities, events, and conferences; and coordinating the efforts of students and volunteers engaged in MIT.nano-related events and tours.  MIT.nano is an approximately 214,000 sf state-of-the-art laboratory complex supporting more than 100,000 sf of shared laboratory space. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  a high school diploma or its equivalent; at least five years’ experience; strong interpersonal, writing, and editing skills; and proficiency with PowerPoint, Photoshop, InDesign, Hootsuite, and other communications software; meticulous attention to detail; and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, work both independently and as part of a high-energy team, meet deadlines under pressure, and accept feedback on creative work.  Experience with photography, design, or video a plus.  Bachelor’s degree and a background in science and engineering a plus.   Job #17362-6
