We are seeking an outstanding academic to join our department as a Lecturer in Psychology. The appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance and generate publications of international standard. The appointee will also be expected to serve as course co-ordinator for the newly established taught MSc (Psychology) programme, to make a strong contribution to other aspects of the teaching programme of the Department, and to supervise Master's and PhD students.

The Department of Psychology at Maynooth University is a dynamic environment for research, leading globally in several key areas. Consideration will be given to applicants displaying a track-record of research excellence in any area of psychology that is complementary to existing departmental strengths and priorities in the areas of Rehabilitation, Disability & Health Psychology; Mental Health, Community & Positive Psychology; Neuroscience, Behaviour & Cognition; and Organisations, Systems and Policy. A particular opportunity exists for applicants with expertise in cognitive neuroscience/neuropsychology to utilise existing infrastructure for transcranial magnetic stimulation to develop a research programme in brain stimulation. The appointee will be expected to build a strong research profile, that supports the University's research strategy including affiliating to the Research Institutes, where appropriate and working with colleagues on national and international research.

Lecturer Salary Scale: €52,849 - €83,090 per annum (7 points)

Appointment will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.

  • New entrants to the public sector will be appointed on the first point of the above scale.
