Post-doctoral Research Associate

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The successful candidate will be a member of the Hungry Mind Lab (www.hungrymindlab.com), which is directed by Prof Sophie von Stumm at the University of York, and of the multidisciplinary research team at TEDS (www.teds.ac.uk), which is based at the SGDP and includes statistical and quantitative geneticists, laboratory genetics, a genomics core, biostatisticians and clinical informaticians. The successful candidate can be based either at the SGDP in London or at the University of York, depending on the candidates preference, but should be flexible to travel at occasion between both locations.  

The postholder will be a highly motivated and innovative individual experience in genomic, longitudinal and individual differences research methods and analyses.  The project, which is partially funded by the European Foundation for Alcohol Research (ERAB), will focus on studying the gene-environment interplay in the prediction of health outcomes in young adulthood. Knowledge of the current genomic and epidemiological literature is desirable; excellent statistical skills are essential. An active publication record is also essential, as is good knowledge of the current state of the field and approaches. Training will be provided for all elements of this position. 

The salary will be paid at Grade 6, £37,412 per annum, inclusive of £3,223 per annum London Allowance. 

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 9 months.

This is a full-time post.
