The Faculty of Mathematics intends to appoint to the

Chair (W2) of Mathematical Optimisation

You have an interdisciplinary background and the ability to work with partners in mathematics and with colleagues across disciplines. The research alliance DRESDEN-concept offers excellent prospects for this purpose. In teaching, you will be involved in all of the faculty's courses of study as well as in non-mathematical study programmes. In particular, this means teaching courses on discrete and continuous optimisation. We also expect you to be actively involved in academic selfadministration.

We are looking for a scientist with an outstanding record in at least one current area of mathematical optimisation, who has experience in raising third-party funds, in preparing and providing teaching, and in the supervision of degree theses. In addition, we expect you to be able to undertake teaching in both German and English or to acquire the necessary language skills within a few years. Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
