Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 495486), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in infectious diseases epidemiology or a related discipline, with solid post-doctoral research experience and a strong interest in designing and conducting epidemiological studies on infectious disease epidemiology, particularly on immunity to influenza after natural infections and vaccinations.  Relevant experience in vaccine trials or other community-based studies is highly desirable.  The appointee will work on research projects on the epidemiology of influenza and other infectious diseases in Hong Kong and mainland China.  He/She will also be involved in all research processes, including grant applications, research planning and implementation, supervision of junior research staff and postgraduate students, data analysis, report and paper writing, and development of his/her own research programme.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
