Maynooth University Department of History (traditionally strongest in Irish and European history, complemented by American, military, and art history) seeks to strengthen and extend its existing undergraduate and postgraduate offerings. Therefore, and in the context of an increasingly diverse University that prizes its growing international ties, we invite applications for a four-year Lectureship in any aspect of History since 1500. The appointee will have completed a PhD and possess an appropriate record of teaching, research and publication commensurate to the level at which the appointment is made, and will be expected both to contribute to the Department's under/post-graduate teaching programmes and to assist in the supervision of research students. The successful candidate will also share in the administrative duties of the Department. The appointee is also expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance and generate publications of a high standard.

Lecturer Salary Scale (Post 1995): €52,849 - €83,090 per annum (7 points)

Appointment will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.

*New entrants to the public sector will be appointed on the first point of the above scale.
