General Description

Manage and coordinate patient care and personnel needs in a PDC Clinic; plan, develop,implement and evaluate ambulatory health care services, programs and activities.

Job Duties

  1. Manage nursing services delivered within the clinic and ensure scope of practice compliance with nursing services
  2. Identify clinical operational needs; manage appropriate level of equipment and supplies and monitors equipment maintenance.
  3. Collaborate with Health Center Administrator in determining the fiscal requirements ofthe specific clinic; submit budgetary recommendations, including necessary nursing personnel and patient care materials necessary for the provision of care
  4. Cultivate exemplary customer service throughout the organization; promote effective communication skills to include, but not limited to problem solving, assertiveness, and support for team members, feedback, active listening and conflict resolution.
  5. Manage various personnel actions including, but not limited to hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions and scheduling; and counsel and conduct formal discipline of clinical staff.
  6. Manage multi-specialty nursing services delivered within a specific clinic.
  7. Develop, document, implement and monitor written policies and procedures reflective of the ambulatory health care site mission settlement and objectives. Manage specific clinic inabsence of Health Care Administrator/Practice Manager; and be available on-call for emergencies involving the facility, staff members and patients.
  8. Manage specific clinic in absence of Health Care Administrator/Practice Manager; and be available on-call for emergencies involving the facility, staff members and patients.
  9. Assess the environment and make recommendations to ensure optimal patient comfort, safety and compliance with various regulatory bodies (OSHA, JCAHO, Infection Control etc.).
  10. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education Requirements/Preferences

Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. Master's degree in Nursing strongly preferred.

Experience Requirements/Preferences

Three years of nursing experience is required. Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BCLS certification required.

Working Conditions

  1. Must be able to work under time pressures in a busy clinic/office environment.
  2. Must be present on site for 8 hour shifts during standard business hours.
  3. Must participate in group activities requiring interpersonal skills & cooperation.
  4. Must work as late person when scheduled or according to business needs.
  5. Must be able to reactquickly and immediately respond to emergencies. Must be able to handle multiple assignments, conflicting demands & priorities.
  6. Must maintain attention to detail over extended period of time.
  7. Must be continually aware of variations in changing situations.
  8. Must be able to move throughout office environment throughout day.
  9. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  10. Must be able to push/pull 50 lbs.
  11. Must be able to reach for objects by extending arms.
