Occupational Summary:

We are an accredited human tissue biorepository housed in the Department of Pathology, directed by a Duke School of Medicine Faculty Member.  The biorepository is funded to support biomedical research at Duke University and on behalf of the National Cancer Institute.  The individual hired will be responsible for processing, storage, and distribution of human samples for a wide variety of research protocols. 

This is an exciting entry level position into biomedical science with opportunities for career advancement.  We seek enthusiastic team members looking to begin and advance their scientific careers.

Work Performed:

Perform a variety of technical duties including but not limited to preparation of collection kits, reagents, and solutions.  Perform laboratory related activities such as blood processing, tissue processing, embedding, and shipping.  Maintain inventory of research specimens.

Enter all data associated with laboratory activities in our database within one working day.

Maintain sufficient inventory of materials, supplies and equipment for performance of duties; clean and maintain standard laboratory equipment. Review work of lower level laboratory personnel and assist in the training of new personnel.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
