Western Sydney University is a modern, forward-thinking, research-led university, located at the heart of Australia’s fastest growing and economically significant Western Sydney region. 

The Associate Director, Work Health and Safety is a key leadership position in the Office of Human Resources. They lead a diverse team of five professionals, that addresses strategic work health and safety issues and well-being initiatives. 

This position is currently based at Werrington North but will be relocating to Hawkesbury in July 2019.  It is a full time position reporting to the Executive Director, Human Resources. 

The successful candidate will have an extensive understanding of the WHS Act (2011) together with proven experience in WHS management including strategic planning and developing, implementing and monitoring performance of policies related to Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing. You will be a highly effective leader with the ability to build strong working relationships and develop a high functioning team with a proven capacity to lead staff in a service excellence orientated culture. A demonstrated understanding of Radiation Safety matters is essential for this position and you must hold a current driving licence with a willingness to travel between multiple campuses as required.
