The Role of Deputy President and Provost

The Deputy President and Provost will report to the President for leading a senior management team consisting of Vice Presidents with academic portfolios, Associate Vice Presidents, Deans of Faculty and School or their equivalent, in the overall planning and development of the University’s academic operation.  He/She will also play a key role in the formulation and implementation of the University’s Strategic Plans and Planning Exercise Proposals.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be a visionary and inspiring leader with an international outlook as well as a good understanding of global trends in higher education.  He/She should be an internationally renowned scholar with proven experience in leading and managing a dynamic, sizable, complex and renowned higher educational institution.  He/She should have excellent international, national and local networks with the academic, business, professional and public sectors.

The appointee is expected to assume duty in 2020.  The term of the first contract is normally five years and is renewable subject to mutual agreement.
