Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Division of Information and Technology Studies of the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 494154), to commence in September 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure subject to demonstrated excellence and contributions. Exceptionally outstanding candidates at the Associate Professor Level may be considered for appointment on tenure terms.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Technology for Information Management, Data Analytics, Digital Learning or a closely related field, and a professional teaching qualification. They should have strong research and teaching experience at the tertiary level, with a proven track record of competency, particularly in the areas of information management, social media analytics, complex modeling of information flow with application in addressing social, behavioral and organizational science-related questions, as well as big data analytics in education.

The appointee will be expected to teach courses offered in the following programmes: Bachelor of Science in Information Management, Bachelor of Arts & Social Sciences in Social Data Science, Master of Science in Library and Information Management, and Master of Science in Information Technology in Education. He/She will also be expected to supervise research postgraduate students, develop a vibrant and externally funded research programme, and contribute to both pre-service and in-service programmes.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
