As one of the largest Business Schools in the Asia Pacific region, the College of Business is comprised of seven schools - six in Melbourne and one in Vietnam - delivering a broad range of programs in Business, ranging from Certificates up to PHD levels. Many programs articulate between Vocational Education and Higher Education, creating pathways for further study.

The Role

The position of Senior Advisor, Teaching Excellence is responsible for driving and supporting programs to transform and recognise excellence in learning and teaching in the College of Business. This is a strategic and specialist role in managing and coordinating essential activities across numerous stakeholders. Passionate about the student experience, you will be customer focused, by providing support to academic, and engage with high-level stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

  • Create forward-thinking strategies to transform and share pedagogical innovation and quality practice
  • Drive capability-building activities, and co-ordinate and manage programs related to excellence in teaching and student outcomes
  • Provide strategies, advice and support on learning design, digital pedagogies and innovative teaching practice across international campuses, partner locations and online delivery channels
  • Manage and coordinate the implementation of the College of Business's professional development strategy
  • Design, manage and evaluate professional development programs to build staff capability in innovative pedagogies, digital applications and quality design and delivery to enhance practice and student experience outcomes
  • Ensure scholarly practice is embedded, promoted and communicated across the functions of this role and support a range of academic, teaching and professional staff in such practice
  • Coordinate the College of Business applications for staff awards for internal and external schemes
  • Take an evidence-based approach, utilising quantitative and qualitative student experience data

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent skills in learning design, learning theory, curriculum development and resource production in a University setting
  • Demonstrated excellence in leading and influencing academic and teaching staff across diverse programs, international locations and delivery channels to transform teaching practice and the student experience
  • Extensive experience in providing and facilitating professional development workshops and intervention strategies
  • Highly-developed knowledge and skills in the application of educational technologies and digital pedagogies
  • Strong collaborative and project management skills, and the ability to work to deadlines, manage competing tasks and projects
  • Demonstrated outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and work as part of a diverse team and liaise and negotiate with a range of people to achieve agreed outcomes

Qualifications

A tertiary qualification in education, tertiary teaching or equivalent with extensive experience in building staff capability
