Position Summary

MSU is partnering with Cornell in establishing Center of Excellence in Agriculture (COEA) at Cairo University Faculty of agriculture (CUFA). Dr. Nanda P Joshi is the CO-PI to the project and the Chair of the Technical Committee for exchanges, training and scholarships. This position requires intense report writing to the USAID for the component that MSU is directly responsible for – Exchanges, Training and Scholarships for Egyptian students under COEA.

Specific Position Duties

Support in writing exchanges/training reports and keeping track of training and exchange activities of COEA at MSU and other partner universities (Purdue, Cornell and UC Davis).
Prepare annual report for Exchanges, training and scholarship program of the project for timely submission to the USAID – Egypt, through Cornell University (Lead University).
Managing logistical support in hosting faculty and students for COEA funded faculty/students at MSU.
Assist in Asset Mapping/Needs assessment for training and research prioritization for COEA.
Additional work related to COEA as and when needed.
Assist in implementation of Food Safety training program under WorldTAP. Specifically, to help with organizing logistics (e.g., lodging, M&IE, training materials, transportation, etc.)
Assist in designing and evaluating training programs, analyzing evaluation data, and writing evaluation reports.
Write grant proposals; lead collaboration in South Asia focusing on Nepal, under WorldTAP and South Asia Partnership Program.

This position is initially for one year, renewable annually based on performance, with a possibility of an extension based on the availability of funding.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Community, Agriculture, Recreation, and

Minimum Requirements

PhD in relevant scientific area (Community, Agriculture, Recreation, and Resource Studies or Community Food and Agricultural Systems)
Experience working in Africa and Asia, particularly Nepal

Desired Qualifications

Experience in training management
Database design/management experience
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Excellent technical report writing skills
Monitoring and evaluation experience
Some experience of livestock production and animal health program
