The Durham Research Methods Centre seeks to appoint a Senior Medical Statistician to consolidate its strength in Statistics and research methods. This position is in partnership with the Research Design Service-North East and North Cumbria, an NIHR funded research design service to support applied health research in the North East and North Cumbria. The successful candidates will be hosted by the department of Anthropology.
The successful candidate will work with academic colleagues at Durham University and the neighbouring universities, local NHS Trusts and Research Design Service-North East and North Cumbria (RDS-NENC) to advance application and development of statistical methods in applied health research. The successful candidates will also be expected to play significant role in the Durham Research Methods Centre by providing statistical leadership in grant applications and scientific publications. He/she would also be expected to teach generic modules in statistics or quantitative methods to post graduate students and staff. This is a demanding role and requires working on multiple projects within agreed timeline. You will develop your status as an active researcher by taking responsibility for research projects, developing and disseminating new methodologies to solve real life problems in applied social sciences and health research.
