Lecturer in Web Technologies and Mobile Applications – Permanent

The role
As a Lecturer in Web and Mobile Technologies you will have expertise in digital content development, coding and interaction design. You will support the expansion of our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching portfolio to meet increasing demand for graduate skills and applied research in this area. 

You will lead our successful undergraduate Web Design and Development degree programme. This will include teaching and developing modules in subject areas including practical interaction design, web technologies and mobile application development. Developing your own interests in related emerging areas is also encouraged. Our ideal candidate must demonstrate enthusiasm for working with industry in applied research and in the development of teaching to enhance the employability of our graduates. 

A proven track record in research publications and income generation is essential. You will have the opportunity to contribute to research as a member of our Interaction Design & Creativity group or the User Experience & Evaluation group. You will be encouraged to engage and collaborate in interdisciplinary research with colleagues in other areas within the School and externally.  

Who we are looking for 
As a lecturer, you will work within a vibrant research and teaching group, where you will initially have 30% of your time dedicated to building research. There is support for travel to conferences, purchasing equipment and developing your network. We offer a range of development including our Research and Innovation Office who support grant funding applications. Lastly, you will be mentored by a Professor and we aim to have you quickly join a PhD student supervisory team.

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline.  
  • Evidence of a professional academic and research profile 
  • Continuous professional/academic development
  • High quality teaching/learning and research programmes in Web and Mobile Technologies
  • Evidence of research led teaching
  • A willingness to deliver teaching internationally, nationally (UK) and online
