Research Coordinator

Applications are invited for a Research Coordinator to join the Centre for Population Neuroscience and Stratified Medicine (PONS) led by Professor Gunter Schumann. The post holder will assume responsibility for the administration of the PONS Centre and coordinate research activities, including of the IMAGEN, STRATIFY and cVEDA cohorts, as well as various global collaborations and projects. These responsibilities involve, but are not limited to, leading the administration of the team, project management, including coordination of collaborating centres, managing finances and assisting with grant applications. 

The post holder will oversee research grants and will be responsible for the liaison with finance, pre- and post-award research grant offices as well as with external bodies such as collaborating institutions and funding agencies. The role involves management of budgets, such as regular monitoring and planning of expenditure and commitments as well as further financial operations to ensure the smooth running of the project administration. The candidate will also be responsible for planning and coordination of consortium and collaboration meetings, research and academic visits well as further organising joint activities within the PONS Centre. 

The successful candidate needs to be confident in working with spreadsheets and web-based administrative and finance systems and be able to work on their own initiative and within the team. The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of colleagues, with a commitment to providing a high standard of service, is essential. This role requires exceptional organisational skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to pay attention to detail, while working across a number of tasks. The successful candidate will be an energetic and highly-motivated individual who will be able to encourage others within a team, while promoting the research and academic activities of the department. He/she will adopt a proactive approach in contributing and implementing strategic objectives of the Centre.

The salary will be paid at Grade 4, £27,994 inclusive of £3,223 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 18 months.

This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent.

The selection process will include a panel interview.
