• Full-time, two (2) year fixed term contract
• Based in the School of Engineering located at Mawson Lakes campus
• Salary range: $67,769 - $91,969 per annum (plus super)

About the Job

As a key member of the ‘intelligent materials and devices group’ led by Professor Krasimir Vasilev, you will contribute to research aimed at the development of biomedical devices, materials and technologies.  You will be involved with an industry focused project that is investigating the translation of an antibacterial surface on hip and knee implants. 

You will design and perform a range of experiments, prepare articles and materials for publication, and will also contribute to the teaching activities of the School through the development of research-related materials.

Skills and Experience

An academic background in biomedical engineering, (bio)materials engineering, physical chemistry or a related discipline is essential. Demonstrated experience with techniques for surface modification and characterisation is also a key requirement, as is demonstrated experience in methods and techniques for immunology, cell biology, or microbiology.

In addition, you will also have excellent written communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other members of your research team.
