Applications are invited for the post of Technician in the Department of Electronic Engineering.
This post is a rare chance to be involved in the creation of a brand new academic department with a purpose built science building. We are looking for an experienced technician to join our growing team. Previous experience of working both in the lab and the classroom with students would be advantageous.
This new post will be a challenging role, providing technical support to staff and students. The technician reports to the Technical Operations Manager and is responsible for the effective technical provision both in laboratories and departmental space. Specific tasks vary throughout the Academic Year and are outlined in the Job Description.
You will be a confident and experienced technician with effective oral and written communications skills. You will have experience of managing equipment and resources and should be comfortable working in a team. Previous experience in Higher Education will be an advantage although this job would also be of interest to somebody who has previously worked as a technician in other areas of education. You need to be adaptable, patient and a good time manager.
