Head of Teaching and Learning

£35,828 - £50,270 per annum depending on experience

37 hours per week

This is an exciting time for Hartpury, as from September 2018 we became both a university and a college on a single campus; this is an amazing achievement in the history of our institution.  Renowned for excellence in sport, equine, animal and land based curricula, we provide a unique, high quality experience in a focused and supportive environment, challenging our learners in the pursuit of excellence.

In this role, you will lead on projects and activities to support our Teaching and Research Excellence strategy. Managing a small team, you will be responsible for the academic and learning support services of our Achievement and Success Centre (ASC) which offers 1:1 tutorials, group delivery and online/blended learning activities for our 1800 higher education students. You will coordinate in-house staff development activities including the annual Teaching and Learning conference and lead on Higher Education Academy (HEA) fellowship applications. You will also be required to deliver sessions as required on topics such as critical reading and writing, dissertation formatting and time management. A key aspect of this role will also involve module leading and teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate research methods.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced academic to contribute to the dynamic progression of teaching and learning activities at one of the UK’s leading specialist education providers. We are passionate about a quality student experience and you will contribute to this through your teaching and management skills.

We offer excellent benefits including continuous professional development opportunities, 35 days’ annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension Scheme, onsite fitness facilities, free onsite parking and lots more.
