ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II, Sloan School of Management, to provide complex and diverse administrative and financial account support in the MIT Sloan Office of the Dean. Will operate as an integral member of the support staff and a central resource in the Office of the Dean, supporting collaborative relationships across the Office of the Dean, the Sloan School, and the Institute; and function as a high-level contributor and coordinator of projects. Will also provide backup support on projects, events, and communications managed by others and with an understanding of the broader scope of activities of the Office of the Dean. Primary responsibilities will fall under the areas of general operations (reception, mail distribution, tracking/ordering supplies, etc.), and procurement and financial tracking (ordering/receiving catering, processing invoices for payment, maintaining relationships with vendors, etc.).
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: at least three years’ office experience, preferably in an academic environment; proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Visio; ability to work effectively as a team member in a dynamic and culturally diverse environment; self-motivation; service-orientation; ability to assist on multiple tasks and projects under deadline pressure; excellent organizational, prioritization, interpersonal, telephone, and written and oral communication skills; discretion and good judgment with confidential issues; flexibility; and diplomacy. Seek someone who is proactive with a keen eye for detail and a customer-oriented perspective in a fast-paced environment. A bachelor’s degree and experience with MIT procedures and systems, particularly in the area of procurement and financial management, preferred. Experience with Atlas (SAP), Concur, and PowerPoint desirable. Job #17311-5
