Research Associate - Wolfson Centre For Age Related Diseases
Department : Wolfson Centre For Age Related Diseases
We are recruiting to a research position funded by Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp (MSD) as part of a joint project with Professor Peter McNaughton at King's College London. The overall aim of the project is to develop novel analgesic compounds that work by selectively blocking HCN2 ion channels (see Press Release).
The postholder must be experienced in rodent behavioural models and will investigate how our development compounds deliver analgesia in vivo. The position will be collaborative between the McNaughton lab and MSD and will feed directly into the drug discovery program. Some aspects of the work may need to remain confidential until patent protection has been obtained.
The successful candidate will have a PhD or relevant experience in rodent behavioural models. The appointee will work closely with a postdoc working on the same project and with other members of the lab working on related projects. The successful candidate's appointment will be conditional upon receiving full clearance from an enhanced background check as per the terms of our contract with MSD.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 18 months.
This is a full-time post
The selection process will include a panel interview (which may be conducted by Skype) and a presentation.
