Richmond, The American International University in London is an independent, private University with dual American and British accreditation and US public charity status, delivering an education in the American liberal arts tradition. With two campuses in a five-acre site in Richmond Hill and Kensington in central London, and study centres in Florence, Rome and Leeds, the University has around 1,500 students from over 60 countries. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of IT has responsibility for leading and managing the delivery of the University’s information systems and technology, including developing, reviewing and implementing the Department’s operational plan and ensuring the continued smooth running of IT services for all university stakeholders. The main focus of this role will be on continuous improvement in standards and services provided throughout the University. 

We are looking for an individual with substantial experience in leading an IT operation services in an international organisation, preferably in higher education. Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills are essential, together with proven project management skills.  You will be able to demonstrate a record of achievement in a similar role and aptitude for driving efficiency and value from IT services.

The Head of IT will be located primarily at the Richmond Campus but, will also be required to work at the Kensington Campus. This position may require occasional evening and weekend work.
