POSITION SUMMARY
This is currently a  unique opportunity to join and contribute to the growing research and education program in Vinmec Healthcare System as well as the up-coming VinUni (Health Sciences) in 2018. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Program Development for Nursing Education

  • The successful candidate is expected to take lead and responsibility for the development and implementation of all curriculum for School of Nursing at VinUni.
  • Directly supervise the performance the Heads of Nursing Departments and Heads of Curriculum and Clinical Departments.
  • Provide leadership on course development, curriculum development and implementation, course quality assurance and improvement, and professional accreditation for nursing education programs at VinUni.
  • Provide leadership at course levels for implementation of teaching and learning priorities such as competency based education, student centered learning, teacher appraisal and articulation to master’s program.
  • Promote the development of active teaching and learning practices in the delivery of the course ensuring integration of graduate attributes and competency standards across the course.
  • Develop and monitor efforts to continuously improve the course and report to steering committee on course progression, course improvement projects, key performance indicators and other relevant evaluation data
  • Facilitate working relationships on teaching and learning matters with others academic faculties and supporting offices across VinUni
  • Manage and oversee budgets for strategic funds allocated to course development
  • Contribute to the university teaching and learning plan.
  • During the project phase: The candidate will report to the Project Director, Director of Health Sciences Education.

Career path development and marketing for the nursing graduates

  • Promote close relationships with external communities such as professional organizations and employers in the development, implementation and evaluation of the course
  • Actively plan and implement after discussion with the VinUni leaderboard about international explorations aimed creating international post graduate working opportunities
  • Create and promote effective learning environments for students through the development of relevant professional development programs
  • Lead the out-reaching activities to prepare the job/ employment for the up-coming students and graduates, geared toward specific potential nursing job market (e.g. Vietnam, North America, Japan/Korea, Europe, and Australia).
  • Seek out career pathways and post graduate opportunities for all nursing graduates at both national and international levels.

Human Resource Development for School of Nursing, mentoring/ teaching

  • The candidate is also expected to maintain leadership and mentorship capability in advising VinUni/Vinmec team members within his/ her area of expertise. The candidate is expected to teach in his/her area of expertise to VinUni/Vinmec junior team members, and later on VinUni students in professional (health sciences discipline) and graduate (Master, Doctoral and Post-doctoral) programs. The candidate is expected to serve as an advisor and supervise the research of graduate students, undergraduate students and post-doctoral research associates.
  • Work with the VinUni leaderboard to develop a profile of suitable candidates to teach in the course and participate in selection committees for position appointments
  •  Provide coaching and mentoring for the professional development of faculty members of Nursing program at VinUni to prepare for future generation of teaching / research staff
  • Develop learning and teaching committees within the Faculty of Nursing and participate as a member for other relevant committees (upon request from the VinUni leaderboard)
  • Prepare a program for performance appraisal of all School of Nursing staff on a yearly basis. 

Technical advices for the quality improvement of nurses at Vinmec hospital

  • Provide technical advices to the leaderboard of Vinmec and responsible staffs for the evaluation of existing skills and competencies of Vinmec nurses.
  • Based on such evaluation, Vinmec will develop on-the-job training to improve the quality of the nurses. Then other following-up involvement will be developed and agreed

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • PhD degree or equivalent.
  • Strong track record in nursing education program development and implementation with international standard and accreditation, especially the US standards (i.e. NCLEX qualification).
  • Experience in health care education pedagogy as well as clinical teaching.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in academic setting.
  • Verbal communication skill in Vietnamese is a plus.
  • Experience in coaching / mentoring nursing educators.
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary and collaborative educational team.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY 
English is the language of teaching and communication at Vin University. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (Academic) with a score of at least 7.0.

For Higher Education roles, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by having completed PhD studies while being instructed through the medium of English. 
 
WORK PERMIT 
All foreign employees must adhere to the requirements for obtaining a valid visa and work permit in Vietnam. These requirements are mandated by the Government and may be over and above the mandatory requirements and key selection criteria. Work permit requirements are subject to change.
