London College of Communication are seeking to recruit a Course Leader for the LCC Screen School’s BA Virtual Reality course. 

UAL moves to position itself a global leader in virtual reality practice and research, and seek to appoint a skilled practitioner with experience in both immersive storytelling and higher education teaching. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the course in close relationship with the Moving Image & Digital Arts faculty and Programme Director. This includes leading the planning, delivery and assessment of both technical and theoretical units on the course, managing associate lecturers, monitoring and responding to performance data and representing the course and subject in the context of the operations of the school and college. 

The successful candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of the following software systems, languages and practice areas

  • Unity
  • C#
  • Autodesk Maya (inc. Python/MEL)
  • 360° filmmaking processes and technologies
  • Unreal Engine
  • Adobe CC

The successful candidate will also have substantial experience working in in Higher Education, in either a leadership or practice-focused capacity.

Your profile  

As a professional industry practitioner, you will hold a relevant degree and will be able to demonstrate significant creative success and specialist knowledge in virtual production workflows and technologies including Unity development, 360° filmmaking, games design & development, as well as an understanding of emerging practices such as creative coding and real-time rendering systems.

You will be forward thinking and visionary, with an understanding of the changing demands of the industry and a contemporary approach and understanding virtual reality production and research.

A relevant postgraduate qualification will be an advantage, while industry experience is essential.

Experience in higher education is essential.
