University of Michigan, Department of Anthropology invites applicants for a one term  LEO Lecturer I position for the Fall 2019 (Sept 1 – Dec 31) at 33.33% effort.

This position is contingent on sufficient enrollment.

Responsibilities*

Duties and responsibilities for this position are expected to include teaching the ANTHARC 482 “Introduction to Archaeological Field Methods”.  The course topics include training in field safety, equipment use and maintenance, conducting field surveys, mapping a site, excavation, management of field data (notes and archaeological site records), and laboratory analysis of artifacts.  The instructor will have direct supervision of one graduate student instructor.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, the instructor will oversee any course Graduate Student Instructor(s), if applicable; hold office hours for students; do course planning and grading; and provide appropriate syllabus and course materials electronically.

Required Qualifications*

Ph.D degree in a related field, however, a PhD in Anthropology with a background in socio-cultural subfield by the position start date, expected to be 9/1/2019.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
