The DSC Vocational Education School delivers a range of educational programs from Certificates to Associate Degree's and industry training.
As Teacher, Digital Media Technologies (DMT) you will be responsible for the delivery of course material, assessing students and the supervision of students enrolled in selected courses in the School's Digital Media Technologies program. You will be required to deliver instruction including industry standard authoring software, graphic design and media production practices focusing on interactive web, mobile app and games development technologies.
This position may include teaching and assessment in other programs in the School including associate degrees, diplomas, short courses and commercial training. Participation in the School's continuing reviews of course content and development, delivery, teaching methods (including on-line delivery methods) and methods of students' assessment will also form part of this role.
The role will require you to interact with external organisations, industry groups and RMIT teaching and administration staff. Your performance will be underpinned by participation in relevant activities which ensure your vocational competence meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.
Using your strong industry links and current media production knowledge, you will be able to deliver contemporary vocational competences in Front End Web design and development.
Demonstrated skills and development experience with most or all these technologies:
- Teacher Digital Media Front EndHTML5, CSS3
- PHP, jQuery, MySQL
- Wordpress / Hubspot
Vocational Education Teachers are required to meet all the following minimum standards.
- Vocational Competencies
The appointee must be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level of those delivered.
- Assessment and Delivery Competencies
The appointee must hold:
- TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor; or
- TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus the following units:
- -TAELLN411 or TAELLN401A and TAEASS502 or TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B as a minimum qualification
- Teaching Qualification
To be appointed to a Teacher 3.1 or above, you must hold a professional teaching qualification, AQF) Level 5 Diploma or above which includes supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching methodology or equivalent qualification accepted by the University.
Currently the qualification that RMIT recognises and supports is the TAE50111 Diploma of VET.
