The newly reshaped Research Engagement Directorate will be critical in supporting our academic colleagues in the delivery of our new strategic goals in research. The team support and facilitate research and its wider impact across the global HWU group. The team is responsible for providing specialist, professional advice to support academics and senior managers in developing research proposals, establishing relationships with funders, research governance, assessment, management and developing collaborative links between industry, academia and the wider community.

The Global Director will provide inspirational leadership and management of the Directorate to ensure that world-class professional support and advice is provided to our researchers. The Global Director will also have demonstrable outward focus and understanding of the research and innovation landscapes and key stakeholders in Scotland, the UK and globally including research and innovation funders and policy makers to support our strategic decision making.
