Occupational Summary
Conduct a variety of investigations in the planning, development and implementation of experimental procedures within the overall scope of a research project at Duke University.
Work Performed
Design and preform a variety of technical assays, including PCR, q-PCR,Western blotting,ELISAs, gel electrophoresis, and cell culture. Operate laboratory equipment required for specific tests. Document, compile, analyze, and draw tentative conclusions from experimental results. Confer with supervisor and principal investigator in determining specific experiment to be included in and discuss the interpretation of results. Review laboratory methods, scientific journals, abstracts and other literature for information applicable to the implementation and design of research experiments
- A background in cancer biology a plus.
- Must be detail-oriented, well organized, and approach laboratory procedures with critical thinking of the technical aspects.

Education
