This full time research specialist position will support research relating to stress, immune responses, and sleep in Drosophila melanogaster. Responsibilities include overseeing the general operation of the lab such as ordering supplies and maintaining records, preparing media and stock solutions, maintaining Drosophila stocks, conducting experiments as directed by the PI, data analysis, and assistance with manuscript preparation. Candidates must be able to effectively communicate and work with other lab members as well as independently.

Research Specialist A
A Bachelor’s Degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience and/or knowledge of Drosophila genetics is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary, and ability to work with people on all levels.

Research Specialist B
In addition to the duties outlined above, a Bachelor’s Degree and at least -1-3 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Candidate must also have the ability to independently conduct experiments in genetic, biochemical, and molecular analysis of behavior in Drosophila.
