Support/Academic/Management Support

UCB seek to recruit a qualified individual, with experience in a related role, to take a lead on Health and Safety matters with a particular focus on ensuring compliance.  

The successful candidate will be adept at working independently, using their knowledge, training and a pragmatic approach, to build solutions which meet the University’s needs and legislative requirements. You will have autonomy within the role and opportunities to provide insight and input as the University’s estate expands and evolves.

As this is a cross-University role, you will need to possess effective communication skills with the ability to develop productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders. This will be supported by proficiency in IT, as well as sound planning, time management and organisation skills.

Applicants will be required to evidence that they hold a relevant Health and Safety qualification, appropriate professional body membership and a record of recent training and development. If successful in your application, you will be supported to maintain currency of knowledge via the University’s well-funded staff development programme.

Flexibility in order to meet the demands of the service is essential. This is a fractional post (22.5 hours per week) for which the precise working pattern will be agreed with the individual.    Staff benefits include pro rata of 38 days’ paid leave per year, excellent staff development opportunities, pension scheme and a private healthcare policy.
