Applications are invited for the post of Catering Assistant – SCR in the Commercial Services – Conferences and Catering Department

We are seeking a customer focused individual who will be based within the traditional Founder’s Building; working in our academic staff dining room and assisting with the day to day operations of this smaller outlet within the larger catering department. The SCR is used throughout the year, as well as for conferences during the vacations.

The ideal candidate will require strong front of house skills, demonstrate a belief in achieving high standards and be willing to work hands on as part of a team. The role will require a range of skills including the following - planning, organising, attention to detail but above all customer engagement and communication.

You will be expected to work as part of a small team, driving the business forward and delivering the best to our customers, ensuring the highest quality service and standards.

To be successful in this post you will need:

  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Experience of building repeat custom 
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • IT skills
  • Willingness to attend training sessions
  • Participation in meetings

This position is 35 hours per week for 52 weeks per year and is available immediately, mainly working 9.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Some weekends and evenings may be required.
