We are seeking outstanding individuals to create a pre-clinical nursing theatre and after care team at our exciting state of the art research environment. In this role you will contribute existing skills in animal care and nursing and have the opportunity to develop additional skills in order to act as a research nurse for our induction, theatre and Cath lab and well as critical care/recovery activities. The main purpose of the role is to facilitate research through hybrid theatre activities as well as supporting procurement, storage, and management of any relevant consumables.

The ultimate objective being to ensure the delivery of an outstanding theatre and imaging based service to the research community at a national level.

The role holder will support research activities by ensuring that the clinical areas are prepared for experimentation on time at highest clinical standards, and are compliant with relevant Health and Safety and other legislative or policy requirements. Carrying out relevant specialised techniques the role may include assisting in training others in these relevant areas and essential core functions.

The nursing team provide day to day technical support for the running of Translational Biomedical Research Centre (TBRC) in order to ensure studies are undertaken on time and at the highest standards of welfare and clinical excellence. Specifically, the role will include also include co-ordination and support of anaesthesia, collection and preparation of biological samples, and completion of monitoring documentation and record keeping.

The post will be 100% based at the new state of the art Translational Biomedical Research Centre (TBRC), at the University of Bristol (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/tbrc/). TBRC is a unique advanced research facility operating under the One Health concept at Home Office, Clinical, and GLPMA standards, with an academic national network of >150 PIs.

There are >15 ongoing translational research projects developing and testing new drugs, stem cells and biomedical devices in any clinical areas. The new facility, conceived as a Research Hospital, has a strong pipeline of awarded grants with senior PIs form top UK and EU Institutions.
