Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology (Ref.: 494437), to commence as soon as possible for one to three years.

The Advanced Imaging Group, co-led by Drs. Ed Hui, Hing-Chiu Chang and Peng Cao, is expanding the team with enthused scientists to develop novel techniques for brain mapping.  Its aims are to develop advanced pulse sequences, image reconstruction algorithms and brain mapping models to improve imaging-based diagnosis and disrupt clinical practice.

The appointee will work on either of these two research projects:

Magnetic resonance fingerprinting

To develop fast acquisition techniques and image reconstruction algorithms to improve the efficiency and fidelity of magnetic resonance fingerprinting.

Brain mapping

To develop novel MRI and computational methods for deciphering the human brain to improve the understanding of the neuroarchitectural underpinning of brain functions.

He/She will work in close collaboration with radiologists, physicians, biomedical scientists and electrical engineers; and will be groomed to become an independent principal investigator. The work will be carried out using 3 Tesla Philips Achieva TX and 1.5 Tesla GE.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical/Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or a related field, and have first-hand experience in MR physics, sequence programming and/or image reconstruction algorithms.  Enquiries should be sent to Dr. Hui at edshui@hku.hk.  Applicants who have responded to the previous advertisement (Ref.: 494132) need not re-apply.
