The Faculty of Life Sciences is seeking to appoint a Student Administration Manager for the graduate team within the Faculty Education Team. Postgraduate administration is currently being reviewed within the faculty. The Student Administration Manager will work closely with the Faculty Education Manager and the Graduate Education Director, to lead the team through this time of transition.
The role involves full responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the graduate team. This includes postgraduate administration tasks throughout the academic cycle: from admissions through to graduation. It involves close working with students, MSc Programme Directors, Directors of Graduate Studies, Doctoral Training Entity Directors, schools, the Wellbeing Service, central divisions, external partners, and requires a collaborative and flexible working style.
The successful candidate will be a highly experienced and capable administrator, who can demonstrate significant experience in managing a team. You will have excellent customer service and pastoral skills, with a strong customer care ethos. You must be able to work under your own initiative, with a high degree of autonomy and the ability to make key decisions when necessary. You should possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in your work, and excellent communication skills, including the ability to operate through persuasion and negotiation.
You should have extensive relevant experience using a range of student administration systems, and be able to adapt to new systems and processes quickly. You should be efficient, flexible and adaptable, with excellent workload management and prioritisation skills.
