The Charles Darwin University (CDU) Vocational Education and Training (VET) Faculty is responsible for the planning, delivery and reporting of government subsidised and fee for service training and assessment to approximately 14,000 students across the Northern Territory.

The Automotive and Civil Team provides nationally recognised accredited training to apprentices and trainees, pre-apprentice students as well as the up-skilling of existing workers. Training is delivered in the following major discipline areas: Light and Heavy Vehicle Mechanic and Equipment; Automotive Electrical; Automotive Air Conditioning; Panel Beating and Vehicle Spray Painting; Light to Heavy Rigid Licence Training; Transport and Logistics; and the Operation of Civil Construction Machinery.

As a VET Lecturer/Workplace Assessor – Civil Construction you are responsible for the development and delivery of training whilst working under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and the VET Quality Framework and to the competency standards of all relevant Training Packages. You will deliver training programs through flexible learning environments including, classrooms and/or other nominated teaching locations/workplace environments either on or off campus and in remote areas of the Northern Territory. Experience providing training within a workplace setting or educational institution will be highly regarded.

Crucial to this role is your passion for the civil construction industry, significant work history in the sector, and your captivating and influential presentation style to engage students to succeed in their studies and progress in their careers.

To be successful you must possess qualifications and/or post trade experience in the Civil/Mining and Logistics industries, as well as a current qualification equivalent to a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116).
