The Department of Engineering Mathematics, part of the School of Computer Science, Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Engineering Mathematics (SCEEM) at the University of Bristol is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related areas.

The Department of Engineering Mathematics is internationally renowned for its research and teaching in the application of mathematics and data science to real-world problems. This appointment is part of a major strategic expansion, which aims to develop our existing research strengths in AI and machine learning. You will join the Intelligent Systems Laboratory, which has an international reputation in areas including large scale data mining, statistical pattern recognition, inductive logic programming, fuzzy logic, uncertainty modelling and multi-agent systems. Members of the group work across a range of application domains including digital health, bioinformatics, digital humanities, and autonomous systems, with collaborations across academia and industry. We seek a world-class researcher, who can complement and enhance our existing research strengths, and contribute to our innovative undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes.

The post is offered on an ongoing, full-time basis, but we welcome candidates interested in a fractional or part-time appointment for example those with caring responsibilities or who may wish to work part time in industry. We especially encourage applicants who are female or from other under-represented groups.
