LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN GEOPHYSICS

An opportunity exists for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the broad area of geophysics to join the School of Geosciences, University of Aberdeen.
The School of Geosciences at the University of Aberdeen has been expanding its research and teaching capabilities in geophysics since 2013, when a number of appointments were made and a MSc. in Geophysics was launched. To consolidate and expand further, an opportunity has arisen to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to the geophysics team, who will conduct original research and contribute to postgraduate and/or undergraduate teaching in geophysics.
We seek a highly motivated and ambitious individual who complements our existing geophysics research and teaching activities.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 7 salary scale for Lecturer (£40,792 - £48,676 per annum) or the Grade 8 salary scale for Senior Lecturer (£51,630 - £58,089 per annum) with placement according to qualifications and experience. The start date is negotiable but we have a preference for the appointee to be in position before the end of 2019.
Any appointment will be made subject to satisfactory references and a 3 year probation period.
