LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN HEALTH DATA SCIENCE

The University of Aberdeen is investing in the Aberdeen Centre for Health Data Science (ACHDS), School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition (SMMSN) giving it priority status for new resource including academic posts. This is an excellent time to join the Centre and to help shape its future direction.  We are recruiting leading Data Scientists with a strong applied health research background to contribute to the strategic direction of the new Centre.

We are seeking to appoint two outstanding Senior lecturer/Lecturers in Health Data Sciences to join the Aberdeen Centre of Health Data Science, University of Aberdeen. The post holders will be expected to have an established track record (appropriate to grade) in an appropriate field. 

You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

You should have extensive research experience and be developing/establishing a programme of research in a relevant area of health data science. Your track record will be supported with evidence of high quality publications and a successful grant track record.

You should demonstrate excellence in education and supervision at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. 

You will demonstrate experience of working within, developing and sustaining complex interdisciplinary teams is an advantage. Experience of partnership with NHS, Patients, Public, policy makers (UK or Globally) and/or industry is desirable.

Public engagement with research is embedded within the ACHDS; you will be expected to contribute and expand the current portfolio.

You will be ambitious, enthusiastic, have excellent communication skills, good team-working, organisational and interpersonal skills. 

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 8 salary scale (£51,630 - £58,089 per annum) for Senior Lecturers, or the Grade 7 salary scale (£40,792 - £48,676 per annum) for Lecturers, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience. 

Any appointment will be made subject to satisfactory references and a 3 year probation period.
