The Chemistry and Forensics Department at Nottingham Trent University is looking for a dynamic Postdoctoral Researcher, with experience and expertise in bioinformatics, for an EU Horizon 2020 funded project, TopSpec.  The TopSpec project is a collaboration between 8 different EU partners, from France, Greece, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK; developing a world leading capability for antibody analysis and profiling, using novel mass spectrometry.  Your part of the project will be in developing innovative tools and methods to explore and extract information from multiple mass spectrometry datasets and to fuse this information, with other inputs, to provide biomedical researchers with the best overview of the total information known about a particular antibody sample.

In this role you will be working in the team lead by Dr David Kilgour.  As a member of this multi-disciplinary lab, and as part of the wider TopSpec project team, you will work with industrial scientists, international academics, other postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students undertaking a wide variety of projects.  You will contribute to the training, development and mentoring of graduate research students.

You will have a PhD/DPhil (or be very near completion) in bioinformatics, computing sciences, biochemistry or mass spectrometry; with experience in developing software tools for processing data.  It will be desirable to have experience in the processing of mass spectrometry data and proteomics, with evidence of publication, and/or to have experience in LabVIEW.  We are looking for applicants who are willing and able to work independently, within a team environment.  Training will be available in all aspects of the work.

This is a full-time post and is offered on a fixed-term basis for 3 years. All applicants must complete an online application form and submit a CV and supporting statement.
