Job description

Working in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace & Automotive Engineering, you will be committed to contributing to our continued success in delivery of engineering programmes. You will join a School with high levels of teaching quality and student satisfaction (ranked in the Guardian University Guide 2018 in the country's top two for our courses in Mechanical Engineering)

The candidate must be able to contribute to the delivery of Quality focused modules to various cohorts of students including part time industrial students. The candidate must be fluent with Quality Engineering techniques and the concepts and philosophies of Quality Management.

The candidate should have the ability to enhance and improve the current material and virtual learning platform and as such should have a specialism in either Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma methodologies or ISO 9001:2015. How ever it would be advantage for the candidate to have a working knowledge of all the areas a "Quality Professional" would deal with. Whilst not totally essential recent experience of quality in an engineering industry would be advantageous as would membership of the CQI.

You will need to share our passion for delivering a positive student experience that puts excellence in teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do and will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge in your area of specialisation and support the school's research culture.  You must be willing to work flexibly and promote and support international partnerships, aswell as potentially deliver teaching onsite at one of our international partners.

The candidate should be qualified to PhD level in a relevant subject. Alternatively, candidates with relevant industrial experience to an equivalent level are also encouraged to apply

Experience of working on applied research projects or contracts, as well as participation in professional practice/consultancy will be advantageous and successful candidates will have the opportunity to become a member of one of our Research Centres.

The position is also open to candidates who wish to focus on teaching practice,development and management.
