Job description

Coventry University is seeking to appoint a risk management specialist within the Office of the Group Registrar & Secretary following a realignment of roles and responsibilities.

We are looking for a dynamic, effective and credible individual to help us on the next stage of our plans for growth. The post holder will be responsible for managing and developing the Group's governance and risk management framework and ensuring that it is fit for purpose in an increasingly regulated and competitive higher education environment; provide high quality and effective advice and assurance to the Board of Governors and the Vice-Chancellor's Office, and coordinate annual policy review.

The University is an exempt charity, and has a group structure that includes academic and commercial subsidiaries. Consequently, knowledge and experience of governance in different sectors will be of value.

Coventry University was named the UK's top modern university in 2017 in both the Guardian University Guide - in which it ranks 12th overall - and the Complete University Guide. We provide "Gold" rated teaching and learning (Teaching Excellence Framework, 2017) to over 29,000 students at campuses in Coventry, London and North Yorkshire in all academic disciplines - from health, business and performing arts to industrial design, engineering and computing.

We deliver our Corporate Plan through a commercial and enterprising outlook, underpinned by robust and transparent governance, which keep us at the forefront of teaching & learning, internationalisation and research.

Interview date - expected to be Monday 13th May 2019
