Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the School of Biological Sciences (Ref.: 494335), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry or equivalent.  They should have a strong background in protein biochemistry/purification and structural biology.  Experience in baculovirus and mammalian expression systems or in cryo-electron microscopy would be an advantage.  The appointee will work on the structure determination of macromolecular complexes using cryo-electron microscopy.  He/She will study cryo-EM structures of large protein complexes that are involved in DNA replication, chromatin dynamics, and relevant areas (or beyond).  More information about the research can be found at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=Yuanliang+Zhai.  Enquiries about the post should be sent to Dr. Yuanliang Zhai at zhai@hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.

The University only accepts online application for the above post.  Applicants should apply online and upload an up-to-date C.V. with the names of 2-3 referees, and a statement of research interests.  Review of applications will commence as soon as possible and continue until September 30, 2019, or until the post is filled, whichever is earlier.
