Bioinformatics/computational biologist to assist in the management, analysis, visualization and integration of large collections of genomic data pertaining to cardiovascular disease and development. To accomplish these goals our group has been generating data using cutting edge high throughput technologies such as RNA-seq, ChiP-seq, ATAC-seq, expression and genotyping arrays and integrating them together as well as with public data from sources such as NCBI, the ENCODE project and EMBI. This work relates to the metabolic origins of disease. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated bioinformatician who is proficient with the following software programs: STAR/Bowtie2/BWA/TopHat/Cufflinks, samtools, bedtools, fastqc, Htseq/RSEM/Kallisto, Homer, SICER, RSEG, MEME-ChIP/FIMO, MACS2/Genrich, edgeR/DESeq, cutadapt/Trim Galore, NGmerge, Enrichr/DAVID/PANTHER/PathVisio, Blast2GO, IGV/UCSC Genome Browser, PICARD. Preference will be given to those with the experience in machine learning, statistics, and data mining/text mining.

A Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
