Project description
IDDEAS, Individual Digital Decision Assist System, is an innovation and research project aiming to improve care in mental health services for children and adolescents and their families using health information technology. RKBU Central Norway collaborates with the Norwegian Child and Adolescent Mental Health association (N-BUP), Department of Computer Science at NTNU and patient organisations and international partners (including Harvard Medical School and University of San Francisco). The project is funded by the Norwegian Research Council (NFR).
IDDEAS will use existing data, together with clinical guidelines to develop a web-based decision support system for professionals working with child and adolescent mental health, i.e. doctors, psychologists and social workers.
Very quick digitization of health data, led by the adoption of electronic health records, has created tremendous opportunities to support diagnostic and treatment processes with analysis of information from beyond the exam room. In this process, clinical decision support system has emerged as one of the best ways in which artificial intelligence is impacting healthcare.
IDDEAS, Individual Digital Decision Assist System will aid in the individual treatment by providing the professionals with support models for prevention, diagnoses and treatment of mental disorders that may arise in children and adolescents.
This PhD project will be supervised by Prof. Norbert Skokauskas (NTNU) and Prof. Bennett Leventhal (University of San Francisco).
